HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - GREATER OTTAWA
Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa (Habitat Greater Ottawa) is a non-profit organization that mobilizes volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership to break the cycle of poverty.
Since 1993, the non-profit has served 76 families in the Greater Ottawa area, which include over 175 children. Habitat GO mobilizes volunteers, sponsors, donors and tradespeople to provide families with strength, stability and independence through affordable housing.
The Leacross Landing project underway in Orleans is located at the southeast intersection of Jeanne d'Arc Boulevard and Fortune Drive in Orléans, north of Highway 174 near the Jeanne d'Arc transit station. This project will be home to 16 local families when completed. The first four families received keys to their new Habitat homes on 15 June 2018. Four more families moved in when Phase II completed in April 2019. The final eight homes under Phase III is planned for 2019-20.
